Become a member of our Oso Grande PTA…we need you! It is a great way to get involved in our school & support our children. $5.60 of every PTA Membership/Donation goes to California State PTA—and the rest comes directly back to our school! To make all of these amazing opportunities possible for our Grizzlies (field trips, assemblies, Family Fun Nights, Art Master’s program, technology upgrades, STEAM Labs, etc), it comes out to approximately $200 per student per year to bring them to life. The more members we have, the more support we have for our school! Becoming a member doesn’t automatically mean you need to volunteer. 🙂 Your donation is help enough! But, if you are interested in volunteering & sharing your talents, we would love it!! We have both smaller roles & large ones depending on the time you can give. **Join today at www.osograndepta.com!

PTA WAIVERS ARE NEW THIS YEAR!!
Each student must have a PTA Waiver on file to participate in any PTA programming (which includes field trips, activities, Fun Run, etc). NEW THIS YEAR! Your PTA Waiver can be completed online at www.osograndepta.com. You will receive confirmation of signing + a copy. In addition, if you have multiple children, you can include them on one form! Easy peasy! Please complete the online waiver by Fri, Aug 30th.
ANNOUNCING OSO BOOK CLUB FOR BATTLE of the BOOKS!!!
Calling all 4th and 5th Grade Grizzlies! Oso Grande is proud to announce our 1st Annual Oso Book Club! Check your Thursday folder to sign the application and learn more about our exciting new READING program! Let’s help our Grizzlies win the Battle of the Books competition against Chaparral and Ladera Ranch Elementary! Applications are due September 6th!!!!
FALL BOOK FAIR IS ALMOST HERE—SAVE THE DATE!

JUICE IT UP- Please join us every Wednesday after school for a Juice It Up! Smoothies are $3.00 each and $1.00 of every smoothie sold goes back to Oso Grande PTA! Please have your child raise their hand in class if they plan on buying one so their teacher can get the head count Wednesday morning. Teachers will hand them a raffle ticket so we know they were included in the head count. After school have your child bring their $3.00 and raffle ticket over to the Juice It Up table and they will get their smoothie. Occasionally, we have extras so please stop by even if you forgot to get your ticket.

Our Oso Grande yearbook is looking for your photos!! Throughout the year we will continue to request photos to help build the amazing yearbook! WATCH D.O.G.S. ORIENTATION – THURS, 9/19 6:30-8p.m.
Calling all Dads of Great Students, grandfathers, uncles, father figures. Become a Watch D.O.G. and volunteer a day this year. A day in the life of a Grizzly scholar! More info to come.
REFLECTIONS CONTEST—ENTRIES DUE 9/27
Put your artistic thinking caps on & share your talents with the PTA Reflections contest! This is a nation-wide art contest where our Grizzlies can submit entries supporting this year’s theme, “Heroes Around Me”, in the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, & Special Artist.
